Warhol is born on 6. August in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania as Andrew Warhola

1945-49
Studies design at the Carnegy Institute of Technology in Pittsburg
Graduates in Painting and Design

1949
Moves to New York, where he works as a commercial artist

1952
First important solo exhibition at Hugo-Gallery in New York entitled „Fifteen Drawings Based on the Writings of Truman Capote“

1956
Group exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art, New York

1960
First artistic pictures

1962
Moves into „The Factory“, his studio
Produces the first serigraphies
Experiments with film and video
First exhibition as a Pop Art artist

Feminist activist Valerie Solanis, founder and sole member of SCUM, nearly kills him
