Very rare, most likely a unique work. The current work is a third and slightly amended version which was unknown to the author Sabine Maja Schilling by the time the catalogue raisonné was published. It relates to “Zeichen einer Kuh” (versions I and II), which are registered in the catalogue raisonné as no. 293 and no. 294.

About Ewald Mataré

Ewald Mataré' s sculptural work is characterized by the search for the form of the essential. Through the reduction and abstraction of the given form, he finds the expression of the elemental and symbolic hidden beneath the surface.
