Karl Otto Götz

1914, Aachen2017, Aachen

After 1945 Karl Otto Götz broke out into a new and radical path in "German Informel". Parallel to the development in Germany, the USA and other European countries also showed a tendency towards the dissolution of the principle of form, as well as the turn to completely non-representational art. Götz works with the so-called squeegee technique, in which coincidence plays a major role. As a professor at the Academy of Art in Düsseldorf, he influenced important artistic personalities such as Sigmar Polke and Gerhard Richter.
