Collaborative work on the exhibitions of the „Freie Secession“ in Berlin

On Max Liebrmann’s recommendation, Purrmann became a member of the Prussian Academy of Arts

Establishment of hi Langenargen-based studio

Relocation to Rome

Honors Award of the Reich Ministry

Purrmann had been defamed as “degenerate” artist whereupon 36 of his art works were confiscated from German museums

1943

Escape to Switzerland

Journeys to Germany. On the occasion of his 70th birthday, Purrmann was bestowed the honorary citizenship of the city of Speyer

1960

Hitherto largest solo exhibition at the “Kunstverein Hannover” with 168 paintings and numerous graphics

1966

Hans Purrmann died April 17, 1966 and was buried in Langenrangen am Bodensee
